Hello Petr,

I don't know about my colleagues, but I personally have no experience with NewSize setting. Perhaps I would leave it untouched :-)

Best regards,
Pavol

Thank you, Pavol, I am trying different settings and let you know how it goes, if you want.

what about -XX:NewSize= -XX:PermSize ? Do you use it at development with some values? Or is it better not to touch it? :)

thanks, Petr

Petr,

as our colleague Kate recently found out, the default stack size can be a problem in some cases - namely, related to new LDAP connector. If the stack size is too small, the "resources selection" window (e.g. on add account or assign account) simply does not appear, with StackOverflowException being recorded in one of tomcat output files (don't remember which one).

Please increase it via -Xss parameter to -Xss1m . Or you can experiment with lesser values, if necessary.

Best regards,
Pavol

Hello Petr,

please make sure that -XX:MaxPermSize is at least 256m. Other things aside, missing this one can cause problems.

As for -Xmx, a few days ago Igor suggested to me having at least 4g. But, if perm size setting would not help, you could increase -Xmx to 2g, for start.

Best regards,
Pavol

Hi,
what would you recommend for setting of Java arguments?

We have midPoint with 6 connected resources, 250 users and daily reconciliation. With -Xmx 1G, Tomcat virtual machine keeps crashing on daily basis.

We would like to keep memory as low as possible, because we use Azure PaaS and the memory is limited.

Thank you in advance
