<p>yes, tasks are a bit different in this respect. (Partly caused by
the fact that there can be more tasks with the same name; this is
not possible for majority of other object types.)</p>
<p>There are three possible solutions:</p>
<ol>
<li>update the task by executing "modify" (REST POST) operation
instead of "overwrite" (REST PUT) operation;</li>
<li>keep using REST PUT, but delete the task beforehand;</li>
<li>file a JIRA request to fix this bug (but I cannot guarantee it
will be done quickly).</li>
