I'd be willing to talk, but right now I won't be available until the
second half of May.
We are considerably smaller, with about 11k enrolled students (with
admitted we're in the ~20k range) with about 2.5k faculty and staff. We
use Grouper to make almost all of the decisions. midPoint then
provisions accounts to the correct places. So Grouper says someone needs
an Google account, and midPoint creates it. Then Grouper is directly
responsible for Google group memberships.
We provision to about 20 different places. Many of them are to DB tables
to bridge to somewhere else. We have a lot of add places we provision to
that don't have connectors yet. And we haven't had the time to develop
them yet. So we are using some remains of our old system that knows how
to handle our odd file service, or Qualtrics for instance. We have
developed a custom connector for Google Analytics, and are currently
deploying one for our CMS. We engaged with ProvisionIAM in the US. The
are an Evolveum partner. ProvisionIAM is the company behind the Zoom
connector. We had them extend the Zoom connector to be able to manage
Zoom Phone licenses, calling plans, locations, numbers, and extensions.
midPoint has a LOT of functionality that we aren't using. Given our
small staffing numbers, we only want to support having people go through
one product to make changes, and for us that product is Grouper. The
features we are using, work well for us. There are other institutions in
the US that are more features than we are.
If you have questions over email, I'd be happy to answer. We're
scrambling to get a lot of different pieces of the CMS project done this
week (my group also runs the CMS this is migrating away from, we do a
lot more than just IAM), then I'm off to the EU for a couple of weeks,
finishing up with the midPoint meetup in Bratislava.
