Great, thanks. I was just looking at the content, it did not occur to me to look at the headers as well.

Hey,

If you look at the Location Header in the Response following the creation of any object, you'll find the OID you just created. Using the -D switch on curl should dump the response headers in stdout.

Ok, got that figured out by myself. I was just confused by the relatively complex xml files in the samples directory. Simply post something like

<user><name>newuser</name><fullName>New User</fullName><givenName>New</givenName><familyName>User</familyName></user>

My next question is, can I get the oid of the newly created object back somehow? The POST does not seem to return anything. Do I search with the name of the new object or something else?

Thanks, Pertti

Hi,

I am trying to use the REST interface, and I am able to run the examples
given in the midPoint wiki. However, I'm having a hard time formulating
queries myself. Can someone share for example the xml needed to create a
new user via the REST api? Pointers to more examples or documentation
would also be much appreciated.

Pertti
