The Evolveum team is proud to announce the release of midPoint version 3.0.
The version 3.0 code-named Newton is a release unlike any other in
midPoint history. Newton release starts a new age of midPoint
development. This release makes midPoint a feature-complete IDM system
by adding the last missing pieces such as authorizations and delegated
administration. But much more importantly the Newton release introduces
new unique features.
MidPoint 3.0 has Generic Synchronization capability. It can synchronize
not only users and accounts. It can synchronize also roles to groups,
organization units to groups, HR organizational structure to midPoint
organizational structure to LDAP OUs and so on. But the most interesting
thing is that all the advanced features of identity management are still
applicable to all object types. E.g. roles can be applied to users,
organizational units and even to roles themselves. This ability allows
to implement very complex scenarios with reasonably simple configuration.
MidPoint 3.0 also supports entitlements. Therefore it can manage LDAP
groups, AD groups, resource-side roles and permissions and so on. This
ability is native and can be applied to all resources and connectors.
This is especially useful when combined with generic synchronizations:
entitlements can be created and deleted automatically.
There much more new features in Newton that can possibly fit in this
mail. For more information about Newton please see release notes at
