Hi Adam,
I'm assuming you're using MySQL version greater or equal than 5.6.4 and
you have datasource configured in tomcat.
Could you please post your config.xml file with repository configuration
(it's in your midpoint.home folder)?
Your repository configuration should probably look something like this:
<repository>
<repositoryServiceFactoryClass>com.evolveum.midpoint.repo.sql.SqlRepositoryFactory</repositoryServiceFactoryClass>
<hibernateHbm2ddl>validate</hibernateHbm2ddl>
<embedded>false</embedded>
<dataSource>java:comp/env/jdbc/someDataSourceName</dataSource>
<hibernateDialect>com.evolveum.midpoint.repo.sql.util.MidPointMySQLDialect</hibernateDialect>
